    i m having audio driver but whn i m installing it then an error is showing that hardware detected is not supported by this idt audio
    bt many times it has been installed

      From HP forum:

      I had a similar issue and I found a way to solve it.

      I taken the image (XP Sp3 corporate edition) of a 6930p and applied it to a 8440p. In this image there are all drivers and services that I installed for the 6930p.

      When the 8440p boots XP SP3 I was able to install all driver but the IDT Audio.
      I removed the ADI Sound Max software used by 6930p before to install the IDT driver.

      In any case when you start the setup.exe, after some second you see the message that the package in not compatible with the harwdare.

      In order to solve the issue you must use regedit.

      you have to look for the service : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\AEAudio and delete the whole key.

      I also deleted the file C:\windows\system32\drivers\AEAudio.sys

      you can reboot the 8440p.
      Now you are able to install the sp46721 IDT High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver.

      try to reinstall windows, if this is not work, try to reinstall BIOS….

      btw, please do not flash (install) BIOS if you don’t have any problems with your laptop…
